The FX0 cannot be expanded. FX0-14MR-DS
A powered FX0N unit (Main Processing Unit or expansion unit) may have two special function blocks or upto 32 points of I/O
(i.e. two 16 I/O expansion blocks or 4, 8 I/O blocks) added. The maximum I/O for a FX0N system is 128 I/O.
Please note: The FX0N-24MP actually occupies 32 points of I/O from the total system I/O (as 16 inputs and 16 outputs)
although there are only 24 physical points (14 inputs/ 10 outputs).The FX0N-8ER-ES/UL actually occupies 16 points of I/O from
the total system I/O (as 8 inputs and 8 outputs) although there are only 8 physical points (4 inputs/ 4 outputs). The FX0N-485ADP
may only be used with FX0N Main Processing Units with a CPU of version 1.2 or greater.

Guide to diagram product names:
· FX0-PPMR-ES/UL, MR-DS: Relay output, AC/DC power.
· FX0-PPMT-DSS: Transistor source output, DC power. Terminal variations for these products are
shown in square brackets [ ].
FX0-14MR-DS PC mounting arrangements
To prevent a rise in temperature, mount the units to walls. Never mount them to the floor or ceiling of an enclosure.
Units should always be mounted horizontally.
Figure 3.2 Single row arrangement (only FX0N may be expanded)
Figure 3.3 Double row arrangement for FX0N using optional FX0N-65EC 650mm (25.6 inch) extension cable.
Note: Only one FX0N-65EC cable can be used in a FX0N system.
FX0-14MR-DS DIN rail mounting
Units can be ’snap’ mounted on to 35mm (1.4 inch) DIN
rail. To release: pull the spring loaded DIN clips away
from the rail. Once the spring clips are clear, slide the unit up and off.
Caution: Never use a DIN rail mounting in areas of excessive vibration.
FX0-14MR-DS Earthing/Grounding
For grounding, use at least 2mm2 (AWG14) cable. Ground resistance must be less than 100 W (Class 3). The PC’s ground
must not be shared with that of the power circuits. While grounding is recommended, if it is not possible, the PC will still operate
correctly without it. Ground terminal: All ground terminals should be linked with 2mm2 (AWG14) cable. The linked terminals
should all be connected to a single earth point.
